It appears that Isilon ships with ganglia support:

node-1# isi services -a | grep gmond
   gmond                Ganglia node monitor                     Disabled

However, I searched through EMC's KB and couldn't find any documentation about it. Is anyone using it and if so, is any documentation available that you could point me to?

Thanks

I was always under the impression that this was for the internal monitoring stuffs but I must say I didn't even bother to see if the daemon was actually started or not. In any event, I do SNMP monitoring of our 2 clusters via a ZenPack I wrote for Zenoss.

On the Ganglia side, I guess if the gmond.conf file is configured proper, then sending data to your Ganglia server shouldn't be all that hard(?)

Just to update the thread, this doesn't look like its ready for prime time just yet. I also pinged my SE and he didn't know about it either.

When I attempt to start it up, I am getting this

node-1# isi services gmond enable
isi: Service 'gmond' is not modifiable.

Obviously not as a cluster-wide service,
but try this on an unsuspicious node:

/usr/local/sbin/gmond -d 2

You might need to try "# isi services -a gmond enable "
Not 100% sure though as I don't know anyone that uses it.
