SyncIQ Failover and Failback on OneFS version 6.5.5.22

Hi,

    I have found this group helpful in troubleshooting lot of issues in our environment. Now I am planning to do DR test on Isilon running OneFS 6.5. I have done this successfully on OneFS 7.0 but never tried on 6.5. Can some one please send me the procedure.

Failover and FailBack is feature specific to 7.0.x/7.1.0 clusters only. Not available in v6.5.5.x

You can replicate from 6.5.5.x to 7.0.x/7.1 just fine, going backward will lose the v7.x specific feature when going to v6.5.5.x.

Sorry I was not clear in my first statement. We are replicating between two Isilons which are at OneFS version 6.5.5.x. So during failback do I have to create another policy to replicate the data back to my Primary Isilon?

Failover :

1) Create SyncIQ policy to replicate the data to secondary Isilon. 

2) During Failover break the Policy from secondary Isilon(Assuming Primary Isilon is unavailable) to provide RW access to data.

3) Make changes to see if you have appropriate permissions

Failback:

1) Create another policy on Secondary Isilon to replicate data to Primary isilon.

2) Once data is synced break the policy from Primary Isilon to provide RW access for data on Primary Isilon

Do I need to perform above steps to test failover and failback on Isilon's running OneFS 6.5.5.x?
