Jeremy Tiang is a Singaporean writer and translator who is in
residence at Chennai Mathematical Institute during the month of
January, 2014. He is a recipient of the CMI Arts Initiative residency
fellowship, which has been launched by CMI in association with Sangam
House, Bangalore.
The CMI Arts Initiative is pleased to announce the following two
public engagements in connection with Jeremy's visit.
1. Jeremy will deliver a lecture entitled "A View from Singapore" at
Tara Books, Thiruvanmiyur on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 7:00 pm.
The address is Book Building, Plot No 9, GCE Colony, Off Kuppam
Beach Road, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai 600 041. This is behind the
Marundeeswarar Temple tank.

2. Jeremy will read from his own work at Spaces on Saturday,
January 25, 2014 at 5:30 pm.

Short Biography:
Jeremy Tiang is a Singaporean writer and translator. He trained as an
actor at Drama Centre London after reading English at Oxford. His
plays have been performed in London, Hong Kong and Singapore, and he
has also had readings at New York Theatre Workshop and Pan Asian
Repertory Theatre. Jeremy's short stories have appeared in Litro,
Esquire, Ambit, Meanjin, the Istanbul Review and Quarterly Literary
Review Singapore, as well as winning Singapore's Golden Point
Award. He has translated five books from Chinese, and was recently
awarded a PEN/ Heim Translation Grant.
