Hello Fans and Friends of Ishtar!
We are giving thanks for all the great music in Pittsburgh!
Raquy and the Cavemen will be playing with Ishtar on Friday November 23 (it is Raquy's birthday) at Your Inner Vagabond (4130 Butler St in Lawrenceville). YIV will open at 4PM for your World Bazaar shopping pleasure. The Raquy Darbuka Workshop is at 6PM, Ishtar plays at 8:30PM, with Raquy and the Cavemen immediately following. Come dance the night away! There will be jam time after Raquy's set so bring your drum or instrument to sit in with Raquy, Ishtar and 2 secret special guests! www.yourinnervagabond.com for more details.
On Saturday November 24, Ishtar plays at Howler's Coyote Cafe at 4509 Liberty Ave in Bloomfield with Black Bear Combo, Chicago's Balkan fusion brass band! 4 bands for $5. Black Bear Combo goes on at 11:30, Ishtar plays at midnight. Come over and hang out with us after Zafira's Carnivale Deaux at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater.
Wednesday November 28, Ishtar with PhatManDee will open for Polka Freakout (featuring Bubba Hernandez of Brave Combo) at the 31st Street Pub at the edge of the Strip District. This will be a rockin' show!!!! I wonder if I will be the first clarinet player to perform at the 31st Street Pub?
So there you have it. Progressive Middle Eastern Music....Polka Weirdness at its Finest...Eclectic Jazz....Gypsy Brass from Chicago...Bourgeois meets La Boheme....and Classic Belly-Rock all in one city in 6 days and 4 events!!

Sunday December 2 at 2PM at Your Inner Vagabond – Middle Eastern Music Ensemble Workshop with Melissa of Ishtar. $5 donation. All instruments and percussion welcome.
Friday December 7 at 8PM Bellydance Extravaganza at Khalil’s Restaurant. Featuring music of Ishtar, Carmine Guida on oud, dancing by Kari, Berna, and Zafira Dance. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED – 412-683-4757
Saturday December 8 at 8PM Jalsah Pittsburgh VI. All participatory bellydance event. Jam with the band! Your Inner Vagabond. $7 advance tix, $10 at door. www.jalsah.org for more info and ticket purchase.
