Changing the keyboard language on Windows PCs differs slightly depending on what version of Windows you are using. On Windows 11 changing the language is very straightforward, and on Windows 8 and 10 it is very similar, with a few additional steps.
A mechanical keyboard is a high-performance keyboard with tactile and audio feedback so accurate it allows you to execute every keystroke with lightning-fast precision. Because of the durability and construction of the switches, mechanical keyboards are built to last far longer than standard keyboards. Read our mechanical keyboard guide to learn more about what makes a mechanical keyboard awesome. Your fingers will be thanking you.
It looks like you're unable to change the keyboard due to being unable to access the globe key, and we're happy to help. To resolve this issue we'd like to take a look at some settings and go through some basic troubleshooting steps. Do you have any third-party keyboards installed? You can check in Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards. The default is the Emoji keyboard and your preferred language. If you do, go ahead and remove any additional keyboards and see if the issue continues. Add or change keyboards on iPhone
It looks like you have 4 keyboards installed. Go ahead and remove the Russian and Lithuanian keyboards, then restart your iPhone and check for the issue again. If the issue continues, Contact Official Apple Support.
before that, I had additional keyboards, but on your advice, I deleted them. then I rebooted my phone. Unfortunately, this did not help. I also don't have any updates. I'll insert a photo of the settings for you, maybe it will help somehow. Thank you for the help you gave me
I want to be able to write in different languages using the bluetooth keyboard, also the auto-correct gets in the way if I write in a different language than english and it tries to change the words to the closest similar english word.
The new shortcut for changing the keyboard language switched to Ctrl+Space or Shift+Ctr+Space if you have more than two and you want to switch in backward direction, but now all new kind of troubles arised.
In the late iOS 9 versions Shift would keep cycling through keyboards, and it would reset the timer for showing the list of keyboards on screen, so if you kept pressing within 1 sec the shift key, you could be cycling forever.
iOS 10.1 changed that behavior (not fixed) and now if I was pressing the left Shift I would always select one language, while the right Shift would always Select the other (if I had three, it would always go to the top or the bottom one).
I use an apple bluetooth keyboard with my iPhone 4. What works to switch between languages is to hold down shift + command + space all at the same time. That causes the menu of installed language options there are on the phone to appear on the phone's display. I can then touch the option I want on the phone screen to select it, and begin typing in that language by using the bluetooth keyboard.
I see that now Tom, I'm sorry to confuse things. I think my problem might have been that I had the keyboard too far away from the phone, and so when I looked back from the keyboard to the phone, the screen indication of the languages had already disappeared from the screen. Because I have more than one language with Roman characters installed, I thought that no change was occurring from that sequence of commands, since I wasn't getting Korean. But now that I see your correction, and watch the screen closely, I see that you're right. I apologize. (And of course, I'm grateful to have a simpler way of switching languages!)
I had a problem with this too and solved it by using the blue Fn key and pushing number 6 which has the world symbol north east of the number 6 then choose English which is the top option. It took a few goes but managed it select and then hitting the enter key and as you can see it works now.
Actually I did post these issues (at least the recent ones) using the feedback app of the public beta iOS but I think it's a matter of priorites when it comes to bug fixing and it also depends on the number of people affected by each bug, I understand that.
I'm having issues switching language input when writing text using Affinity Publisher. The standard keyboard shortcut for mac (Cmd+Space) doesn't do anything and instead plays a little error sound. When I'm not inside a text field, however, the shortcut works fine. So every time I want to switch input I have to exit the text box, press the shortcut, and then click back in again. I'm working on a project where I have to switch inputs very often, and this has become quite annoying. Other mac shortcuts (such as "Show Desktop" or "Quick Note") work fine, even when writing text.
Cmd+Space is the shortcut for Spotlight search on macOS, at least in English, and works fine in Affinity for me, and Cmd+Space is not a standard shortcut in Publisher. Perhaps you've assigned Cmd+Space to something? You can find out by opening Preferences > Shortcuts and typing Cmd+Space into any blank shortcut field. If it shows a yield sign mouse over that to find out what it's assigned to and then you can find and delete that one. Also delete the newly-assigned shortcut before you close this window.
I recommend also checking System Settings (formerly Preferences) > Keyboard to see what's assigned to the globe key. I assign mine to nothing because I frequently hit that key by accident but you can assign it to change the input source (keyboard).
Cmd+space is the standard shortcut for changing language input if you have several input languages (It automatically removes the Spotlight shortcut). I've tried changing the shortcut to F1 which worked fine in all other programs except when writing text in AP. I also tried to change the shortcuts so that Cmd+space opens Spotlight and it worked everywhere, even when writing text in AP. My laptop is 8+ years old so I don't have a globe key, only a "fn" key.
To me it seems that the problem is not the shortcut, but that AP for some reason blocks the possibility to change input when in a text box. It's really frustrating since I'm writing a language textbook and need to switch constantly.
Language is a Text Style attribute. If you are just wanting to change for spelling or language specific font ligatures you would need to set up a Character Style for each "different" language. For example if the bulk of the document has English Text with some Spanish and Italian then all the Text Styles (Paragraphs) would be set to English and then you would have a set of Character Styles for Spanish and Italian where the only change is the Language.
The languages are Swedish and Russian, so I'm working with two completely different alphabets. Mixing them in the same paragraph works just fine and I can apply the same text style to the different languages and get an identical effect. The only thing that doesn't work is the keyboard shortcut.
I am just guessing here. The Swedish and or Russian keyboard layout(s) may have different keyboard shortcuts or be remapping the shortcuts. In other words you are getting things jumbled up while in Affinity Applications and using a "Swedish" or "Russian" keyboard.
Cmd+Space Are you using Catalina or an older keyboard before the addition of the Globe key? Apple changed this shortcut in Big Sur. Cmd+Space is always Spotlight search now. The instructions for changing input language with the keyboard are now:
It was Cmd+Space sometime before Catalina but Apple changed it due to the addition of Spotlight. However, depending on how you upgraded you could be left with the situation you're describing, with Cmd+Space still in use for input source even though a fresh install shouldn't have that.
If you use more than one language input method then you will know that Shift + Space cycles through the user specified languages. While typing this brief post I have accidentally switched from english to japanese twice!
It seems that whether I disable or enable Samsung Keyboard (e.g. to use, say, Gboard) as soon as I connect to a bluetooth keyboard the Samsung Keyboard (and this set of keyboard shortcuts) insinuates itself into my Physical Keyboard settings.
I know it's been like half a year, but did you ever figure out a solution to this? I did find where to change it under the Physical Keyboard settings, but regardless of what I change it to it Shift + Space will change the language (and whatever I choose in the settings will not)
