Assalamu Alaikum,

Inshallah with a good intention, I am seeking a larger audience for my comments so I am copying ISMASJID group since the email below is blind copied. On that note, I recommend we please do not blind copy recipients which restricts discussion amongst the target audience for topics that may require interaction.

JazakAllah Mustafa and Br. Arif, I welcome and I am pleased with this effort. This is much needed but our focus should be on kids and youth along with for all adults! Alhamdulillah if the mission below could be rephrased with focus on kids and youth, Inshallah this program will get popular and thrive. By no means I am implying this wasn’t thought of but I didn’t notice any mention of youth so I thought to bring it up.

The key to our kids and youth’s success lies in how much focus Masajids and Islamic societies provide to our youth. By the way, I remember Br. Ateeq and some other brothers did focus on this and a lot was happening few years back. Inshallah we need to revive it.

JazakAllah
Faheem

As-salaamu alykum

Hope you are well.

As ISF has always been in the forefront in striving to provide various programs to the community, it has added another dimension:

"ISF Rec"

This program offers an outlet to enhance our physical and mental health to ensure a healthy community. ISF Rec currently offers recreational activities to accommodate various needs including weekly indoor/outdoor volleyball, soccer, rafting, basketball, cricket, etc. In the future, we look to improve and add activities ranging from indoor/outdoor activities to organized sporting activities/competitions.

Inshallah, with this in mind we plan to purchase an indoor table tennis which will be kept in the current Mussallah location for use. The cost is 189.87 w/o tax. Total w/tax ~230.00

The cost is estimated to be a minimum of 20 per person

Those who are interested in contributing towards the cost, please contact Br. Arif or Mustafa.

Jazakallah and May Allah reward.

Assalaamualaikum WR WB,

While I was coming to FCS via Levy road this morning, I noticed that the For Sale/ Rent board wasn't there at United Rental. Is that gone off market or did someone else buy/rent it?

Was,

Last week UR was rented out to RV park Renting facility. Now we can easily rent RVs and go for long drives.

Alhamdullilah we had a great opportunity to explore but it is lost.

As many of us made dua’s and Istikharaah’s, so no doubt  Allah has kept Khair in it.

At least it gave me and many of us an opportunity to understand many facts on where exactly our community stands in building our own worship place.

It helped us bring up momentum in the community to build something in FM, get some visibility on where we stand  and what are we planning to sign up in future.

IA we should keep this momentum, continue our meetings (weekly or bi-weekly), make things transparent and have a  permanent place of worship.

Hafeez

A couple of brothers are out of town this Wed. due to the holidays, so let's skip this week. We could setup something regular for MB now that UR is off the market.

Jazakum Allaahu khayrun Br. Hafeez and all involved in the UR proposal; I for one (and I'm sure many others too) got to learn a lot more about our situation (past, present and future plans), in the process. May Allaah bless us with the best in this dunya and the aakhirah.

Salaam Alaikum,

Since there are a couple of agenda items already proposed; I think it is important that we meet and discuss those.

At any given point we may not have all the brothers in any meeting; I dont see it a reason for meeting  cancellation, lest the community looses interest in these meetings and the outcome of these meetings.

Just my 2 cents...

-Junaid

Wa'alaikum assalam,
I agree, not all the brothers will be present at any given time. But I think this time around we're missing some key inputters/inputs for the agenda items proposed.

- Engineering analysis of estimate would require thorough discussion between people like Br. Fareed, Br. Diaa, the contractors, Riaz bhai, etc. which can and should be accomplished outside of this general meeting. I don't think this has happened yet. Pls. correct me if I'm wrong.
- Project management and ownership: This is a very important topic and I would expect the existing ISF Board to come up with a proposal on how they want to go about this and also attend the meeting themselves while we provide our inputs. At least 2 of those members are not going to be able to make it today.

My 2 cents,
Ateeq

Ws,

Jazak Allah Kair Br. Ateeq

Engineering analysis of estimate would require thorough discussion but it does not need to involve the Contractor. it should be as you've kindly indicated by experts and for the rest of the community member to understand and analyze.

Project management and ownership: again it's as indicated below but need to discuss the process which is some what hard to explain over an e-mail.

I can understand that With all the confusion it's hard/late to call for a meeting tonight. but in the future if we can be involved in the meeting cancellation process that will be great.

Jazakum  Allah Kair.

Jazak Allah khayr Br. Dia for your courteous response. I agree with both points.
For the engineering analysis, I was under the impression from our previous meeting that Br. Fareed, etc. would be sitting down with the contractor and going over in a very detailed manner about what is included, and what is not. Once we have a good understanding of what we're getting and at what cost, the rest of the community could join in and share their thoughts. I guess what you're saying is that we could have the experts discuss those details in the same general meeting with everybody else present? I don't have a problem with that. Worst case, whoever is not interested can skip the meeting :).

As for meeting scheduling and agenda proposal, everything is supposed to happen over email, there is no other process. I occasionally check with key input providers like Br. Riaz, Br. Hafeez, etc. as to whether they have any items to bring to the agenda or if they're going to be present, but other than that this is it. I'm sorry for the last-minute communications, will in shaa Allaah try to improve in the future.

Jazak Allaah khayr again for your patience and cooperation,
Ateeq.

Wa'alaikum assalam Fareed bhai,
The following individuals would not have made it:
1. Br. Riaz, who had a prior commitment, had to go to SFO I believe
2. Br. Nadim, who I'm told is in Phoenix
3. Br. Pasha, who had a baby girl today Alhamdulillaah
(4. Br. Noor Khan who has a time conflict, 5. Br. Abdul Khader, who we're missing for a long time)

To be honest, I was most concerned about not having Br. Riaz in the meeting because of his experience and involvement in the MB project. Would not have made too much sense to discuss the items below in his absence. Also to be honest, between Mon. afternoon when the agenda items of discussing project mgmt, etc. were proposed to Wed. night, would not have been enough time for our current ISF Board to discuss it amongst themselves. I did not want to be stepping on their toes or jumping ahead of them in discussing this matter of ownership, etc. after having them manage all our other affairs for so long.

Having said all that, like Br. Junaid said, we cannot keep waiting for every person to be available; we will seek permission and move forward and request inputs from the absentees prior to/after the meeting, in shaa Allaah.

Jazak Allaah khayr for your patience,
Ateeq
