This archive includes both SQL Developer and an embedded copy of the Java 11 Development Kit (JDK). Simply extract the zip to a fresh directory and run the sqldeveloper.exe in the top directory. The EXE is configured to run the embedded JDK by default.

Im very excited since I just installed yesterday manually Oracle Linux 6.5 and Oracle 11gr2 all on a Virtualbox vm. Ive been developing for long time but either in Banks already installed oracle in linux by DBAs or at home installation of Oracle in windows. But I decided to try something I was curious for long time which was to install oracle in linux running in a vm and then usinfg developement tools from vm host *sql developer etc..). Im happy that in just 2 days I was able to do all necessary steps from virtualbox additions for sharedfolders, linux with x, pre-requirements for oracle instalation, rpm and yumo stuff, kernel parameters tune and instalation when smoothly sucessfull yesterday

But today after starting vm again seems some process is not running.. cause i cant access em either locally from inside the vm neither from my host.

I want to connect my database with hr database in my Oracle Developer Days using Oracle VM VirtualBox. When I connect my database using sqlplus sys/oracle as sysdba, It's successful and the status is OPEN. But, when I open a new tab, and I put sqlplus hr/hr on [oracle@localhost ]$. It doesn't work, and has a warning ERROR:ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied. After that, I can enter the username, but I can't enter the password. And show a warning again (ERROR:ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied.) I got the sqlplus hr/hr from my lecturer and she can logon with it. Do I missing something?

I'd like to Oracle developer studio (ODS) on Ubuntu (in order to use its advanced parallel debugging features), unfortunately the install script will only install on Oracle Solaris, Oracle Linux or Redhat systems. I've followed the advise in an earlier post but it doesn't work on Ubuntu 14.04 with the latest version of ODS. Short of installing a VM and then Redhat on the VM or another Linux installation I am at loss of what to do.

I believe you can install Oracle Developer Studio just by downloading the tar file version and unzipping it. This method won't support updates via a package manager, but I was able to get it to work on Ubuntu 16.04. Once the tar file is downloaded it can be unziped with tar and the program can be run by executing ./OracleDeveloperStudio12.6-linux-x86-bin/developerstudio12.6/bin/sunstudio

oracle-developer.net is a resource for Oracle database developers. On this site you will find a collection of articles, tutorials, and utilities. Most of the content on this site is original, though in some cases the work or contributions of others is referenced and credited. Feel free to browse the site, recommend it to your colleagues and maybe link to it from your own websites and blogs.

oracle-developer.net is divided into two sections: articles and utilities. The content is primarily SQL and PL/SQL for database developers but DBAs should also find some useful information. The articles are categorised as New Features or Miscellaneous (which includes tutorials, new techniques and workarounds). Utilities are free for download with the usual disclaimers on usage. New content is added on a regular basis and can be tracked using the site's RSS feed.

oracle-developer.net is developed and maintained by me, Adrian Billington, based in the UK. I'm an Oracle ACE Alumnus, a member of the OakTable Network and a winner of the Oracle Database Developer Choice Awards, 2015 for PL/SQL. I am co-author of Expert PL/SQL Practices and I have also contributed a section to Steven Feuerstein's Oracle PL/SQL Programming, Fifth Edition, (my contribution is re-printed here courtesy of O'Reilly).

oracle-developer.net is based on an original template by SmallPark. I've retained the general theme of the template as much as possible, although many of the original display properties have changed. If there are any general design or usability issues with the site, please let me know.

Using APEX, developers can quickly develop and deploy compelling apps that solve real problems and provide immediate value. You don't need to be an expert in a vast array of technologies to deliver sophisticated solutions. Focus on solving the problem and let APEX take care of the rest.

Has anyone got a good oracle SQL PSM connector. I have a cyberark developed one (autoit) that has so many issues. New gallery window not coming up, new connection window not coming to for the credentials to be entered (automated). All randomly. 1/10 connections are failures.

"A PERMISSION DENIED ERROR while trying to copy E:\oracle 6i\ path to c:\windows\system32\MSVCRT40.DLL". Would you like to retry the operation, ignore the error, or allow the error to be processed by the installer".

As checked with few potential users they don't have this installed in their machines not sure what is the cause of this false positive evidence? I have noticed that most of this users have SQL developer installed not sure if this is related in anyway?
