CanWe recite any other durood in place of durood Ibrahimi in our salah? There are many duroods which have higher rewards than durood Ibrahimi and I want to replace durood Ibrahimi with any one of them. Or it is obligatory to recite durood Ibrahimi?

All Durood Sharif are considered equal by the ulema; however, no Durood Sharif can be better than that taught by the Prophet SallAllahu alayHi wa AaliHi waSallam Himself; simply because it is taught by the PROPHET HIMSELF, SallAllahu alayHi wa AaliHi waSallam, whereas other formulas - although highly honorable and beneficial - are taught and derived long time after him by those lesser than the Prophet SallAllahu alayHi wa AaliHi waSallam. The Words taught by the Prophet SallAllahu alayHi wa AaliHi waSallam are in fact Wahi from Allah.

Ka'b bin Ujrah met me and said, "Shall I not give you a present I got from the Prophet?" `Abdur- Rahman said, "Yes, give it to me." I said, "We asked Allah's Apostle saying, 'O Allah's Apostle! How should one (ask Allah to) send blessings on you, the members of the family, for Allah has taught us how to salute you (in the prayer)?' He said, 'Say: O Allah! Send Your Mercy on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad, as You sent Your Mercy on Abraham and on the family of Abraham, for You are the Most Praise-worthy, the Most Glorious. O Allah! Send Your Blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent your Blessings on Abraham and on the family of Abraham, for You are the Most Praise-worthy, the Most Glorious.' "

So please correct your understanding: Durood e Ibrahimi is considered "Ummus-Salawat", the 'Mother of All Duroods'. It is what holy prophet recited in his prayer, and muslims believe he is the perfect man and no one can be ebtter than him.

My question is about Darood e ibrahimi. IN darood e ibrahimi, we pray for aal e Ibrahim also, which we all know are Banee israel also. This also means jews community of all times, including those too who in madina never lived in trust worthy relationship with prophet.

My second thought in this aspect is, whether I should take meanings of Aal e ibrahim in its abstract sense on ideological basis instead of offspring or descendants meanings. Whether I should take this as all believers should be assumed as Aal e ibrahim?

Actually saying peace on Prophet Abraham (sws) and His progeny covers it all but the reason I think that Prophet Muhammad (sws) and His Progeny are mentioned separately has some literary and historical significance.Prophet Abraham (sws) hold a special status of Imamat while Prophet Muhammad (sws) hold the special status of culminating the Abrahamic tradition to its final form till the day of judgement. Therefore, mentioning of both the start and the end separately covers the whole of the second phase of prophethood beautifully.

Secondly, there is no harm in praying for anyone (whether Muslim or Non-Muslim), Allah will only accept those prayers and give affect to them according to His law of repentance and forgiveness.

A Durood is a kind of prayer and blessing that we sent to our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H), In the Quran, Allah says that he and his angels sent the durood to his Prophet (P.B.U.H) and orders us to recite/sent Durood to our Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H). Durood Ibrahim is one of the most recited durood, as it is also recited in the Prayers after the Attahiyat. In this beautiful Durood, we Pray to Allah to send Peace and Blessings upon Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and his Family.

That star Hadith is quite a funny tradition. According to Sunnis, Usman was a companion and Talha/Zubair were also companions. During the revolt in Madina, whom would they follow, the one who was killed or those who were responsible of his killing? According to them, Imam Ali (as) is a companion and Muawiya (LA) was a companion too, whom would they follow in Suffain, the Kaliph of Muslim Ummah (ALI (as) ) or the the fitnah monger from Syria?

I ask you to do one thing: Devote yourselves to GOD, in pairs or as individuals, then reflect. Your friend is not crazy. He is a manifest warner to you, just before the advent of a terrible retribution . (34:46)

Who is more evil than one who fabricates lies and attributes them to GOD, or says, "I have received divine inspiration," when no such inspiration was given to him, or says, "I can write the same as GOD's revelations?" If only you could see the transgressors at the time of death! The angels extend their hands to them, saying, "Let go of your souls. Today, you have incurred a shameful retribution for saying about GOD other than the truth, and for being too arrogant to accept His revelations. [6:93]

a shia friend of mine told me that her sister in law (who is also shia )left praying namaz in shia way coz she read somewhere that ur namaz is not complete untill u dont say darood -e- ibrahimi and she says shia,s dont read darood-e-ibrahimi in prayers

We received durood-e-ibrahimi from the relation of Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him). When a person recites darood sharif once, he will get the reward of building the Kaabah and the reward of throwing pebbles from the beginning to the Day of Judgment. As many people will circumambulate the Kaabah Sharif until the Day of Judgement, they will be rewarded for circumambulation equal to all people. All these sacrifices are rewarded Which all Muslims will do on the day of Eid-ul-Azha from Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) until the Day of Judgement.

The virtue and importance of Durood Pak is very high. The excellence of Durood is also proved by Quran and Hadith. The Companions and Auliya Ikram also recited this Durood. Durood Pak is also recited for different types of needs and is very effective. By doing his wazifa, the visit of Hazrat Muhammad is blessed. Due to abundance of Darood Sharif, the heart and soul are purified and the life is freed from all kinds of bad deeds. It is in the Hadith Sharif that whoever sends me every blessing, ten good deeds will be written for him and he will be forgiven ten times.

Sayyidna Abdullah bin Masoud (RA) said: O Zayd bin Wahb! On Friday, do not miss praying on the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam a thousand times. To say: اللَّهمَّ صَلِّ على النَّبيِّ الأمِّيّ. (Narrated by Abu Naeem)

Then reciting Durood on Friday is the best because this day is the best of all days and whoever recites Durood Sharif on that day is presented to the Prophet upon completion of his Durood. (Sunan Ibn Majah 1637)

Durood-e-Ibrahimi or Durood-e-Ibrahim is the dhikr taught by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to send salat upon him. Ka'b bin' Ujra narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) taught us to send salat on him by reciting Durood-e-Ibrahimi. (Sahih al-Bukhari 6357), (Sahih Muslim 406a). Muslims recite this durood in their five daily prayers and in obedience to Allah's order. In Surah Al Ahzab, Allah commanded his creation to recite salat on his beloved Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

In Surah Al Ahzab (33:56) Allah says that He and His angels send send blessings on the prophet and all believers should do the same. Followng the sunnah of Allah and his direct order is rewarding and beneficial for all Muslims.

Whenever a person recites durood, Allah Almighty rewards him 10 times and sends countless blessings to him. This person gains Allah's favor, and Allah asks his farishtay (angels) to send blessings on him.

Anas bin Malik said, "The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever sends salah upon me once, Allah will send salah upon him tenfold, and will erase ten sins from him, and will raise him ten degrees in status." Grade: Sahih (Darussalam), Sunan an-Nasa'i 1297

Narrated Fudalah ibn Ubayd, The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), heard a person supplicating during prayer. He did not mention the greatness of Allah, nor did he invoke blessings on the Prophet (ﷺ). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: He made haste. He then called him and said either to him or to any other person: If any of you prays, he should mention the exaltation of his Lord in the beginning and praise Him; he should then invoke blessings on the Prophet (ﷺ); thereafter he should supplicate Allah for anything he wishes. Grade: Sahih (Al-Albani), Sunan Abi Dawud 1481

Prayer (Salat) is the second pillar of Islam; hence, Muslims all around the world strive to

perform it correctly. Among the noteworthy parts of prayer is Ibrahimiyya Prayer. This

latter captures the interest of many Muslims especially the new converts due to the ambiguity

surrounding it. So, what does one need to know about this Ibrahimiyya Prayer?

Also known as Tashahud El-Ibrahimi, and Salat al-Ibrahimiya (Arabic: The Prayer of

Ibrahim), is a prayer upon the Prophet that was revealed by the Prophet himself .In South

Asia, it is also referred to as Durood(1) Ibrahim. In essence, it consists of sending salawat

(prayers) and blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad and his family.

It has been reported in a number of hadith sources, including Bukhari and Muslim, where it is

stated that it is the best and most thorough way to salute the Prophet (pbuh). Durood Ibrahim

is one of the most recited durood, as it is recited typically in the Prayers after reciting

Tashahhud while seated.

The scholars had different opinions on the propriety of sending blessings to the Prophet

(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) during the Tashahhud of prayer. There are mainly

three viewpoints: the first holds that it is a basis or crucial component of prayer, without

which it is invalid. The second asserts that it is required. The third viewpoint maintains that

although it is Sunnah and mustahabb, it is not required.
