Dear Jainee:

Thankyou for your very insightful feed back on Sankalp forum.
We will definitely encourage the Faculty to attend the next event and see how to sponsor a student.
I am sure that Prof. Girish and the Cneter for SE and Enterprises will take this forward.

With all best wishes
Jeemol

Dear Ma'am,

Thank you so much for the wishes.

It was indeed a pleasure to be a part of the Sankalp Forum, and getting a chance to attend the Summit on the basis of Scholarship, and being the only student among all other start-ups and social enterprises. I am thankful to my team for their support, hard work in the projects and encouragement, that made it possible for me to attend this forum.

Post-Sankalp, I realized that attending such kind of a summit is important and informative both for faculties and students to remain updated and connected to the latest happenings of the social-enterprises and development sector in general, in India and Abroad. The summit saw a presence of 1000 delegates from across the country and abroad working in the sector, and who brought out the different perspectives, problems and solutions to the different problems in the sector.
I believe that the summit would turn out to be a great resource, if one student form the 1st year is allowed every year to attend it. This time Vilgrow Foundation had announced the scholarship(Free Delegate Pass + Reimbursements for Travel and Accommodation) , and I was lucky enough to have got it. But I would sincerely request you to consider giving a scholarship from IRMA as well, to at least one student of the 1st year, so that he/she can come back with knowledge and ideas that can help many others of his batch, and be a good resource for the Social Entrepreneurship Cell Events as well the Placement Committee contacts building. Being a part of both these cells, I personally felt, that had i attended this event last year, it would have been great!

Also, would like to bring to your notice that Sankalp Awards also acknowledges and rewards Academic Contribution in the Social Enterprise field. This year the 4 nominations came from TISS and XIMB, and finally Prof. S. Prasad from XIMB received the Award. Many of our professors at IRMA would also have been eligible for it and equally competent. It would be great if they too could participate in the Awards and the Forum.

The dates for next year's Sankalp are already announced. Its 9th-11th April 2014. I hope some of them from IRMA would be able to make it next year too.
I would be sharing some of my knowledge and experiences with the SE Cell and Placement Cell team, in a written document, and I hope it helps them in their future endeavors.

With Sincere Thanks and Regards
Jainee Nathwani
