My university is having the following talk about IDS tech in high-flow
academic networks:
Please join us:
* Who: Keith Lehigh, University Information Policy Office
* What: Finding a diamond on the beach: Large scale intrusion detection
* When: Tuesday, July 3, 1-2:30pm

Keith Lehigh will highlight general approaches to Intrusion Detection
Systems (IDS), as well as the unique challenges presented by a high
volume academic network. He will also discuss IU's use of Snort, Bro,
and Openflow to build a clustered IDS.
Keith has worked for the University Information Policy Office since
2009. He primarily focuses on network security monitoring, and
recently built and deployed the largest Bro cluster in operation.
Before coming to UIPO, Keith oversaw security, system administration,
and support for Research Technologies -- and he did sys admin work for
them in such varied places as Greenland and Antarctica.
