I received a request from a client for software that can be surreptitiously installed on a target machine that would log the amount of keystrokes and clicks a person makes without logging the actual data.  They want to measure how much of the targets day is spent "working".  They found WhatPulse (Discover and track your keyboard and mouse usage.) via a Google search.  I haven't had the time to look into the software yet but it requires an account and proxy settings and doesn't look like a good fit.

I'm reaching out to the community because I've drawn a blank and hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Manictime does that, and I think you can do a low-key install. It is a very robust productivity monitoring app though, not only telling you what app you spent most of your time in, but what dicument or website you spent the most time working on.

Thanks for the lead Adrian.  That was just the thing I needed to kick me into gear.  I found a few solutions that may fit the bill.
