HXG lat_bounds

Dear colleagues,
Here is a small question about lat_bounds and lon_bounds in the HXG product. I suppose that these two parameters define the boundaries of the area that is covered by satellite data ? Thanks in advance !

These variables are part of those that are defined by the Climate and Forecasting (CF) convention for storing data. The cell boudaries are described by the CF convention here
