Zdenek Valenta’s principal affiliation is with the Institute of Computer Science of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where he serves as Deputy Director for Strategic Development and chairs the Department of Statistical Modelling. His secondary appointment is with the Faculty of Science of the Masaryk University in Brno where he teaches graduate courses in survival analysis. His research interests include survival analysis and statistical modelling. Zdenek also serves as grant proposals reviewer with the Czech Science Foundation (2015-19). He served on the ISCB ExCom during 2011-14 and became ISCB Officer (Treasurer) in 2015-16, re-elected for 2017-18. He also served as Chair of the ISCB Subcommittee for National Groups and chairs the Czech National Group of the ISCB. |

Tomasz works as professor of biostatistics and statistical bioinformatics at Hasselt University (Belgium) and Vice-President of Research at the International Drug Development Institute (Belgium). His research interests are the design, conduct & analysis of pragmatic randomized controlled trials, target trials & causal analysis, prostate cancer epidemiology & management, and suicide prevention. He was an ordinary member of the ISCB Executive Committee 2013-16, and sat on the National Groups & Student Conference Awards subcommittees since 2013. Statistics in Regulatory Affairs
|
The Subcommittee on Regulatory Affairs will review, comment upon and seek to influence the development of regulatory requirements, guidelines and other documents by obtaining the recommendations of ISCB members (SiRA process). This primarily concerns the scientific aspects of data generation, collection, management, analysis, and reporting. In general, the subcommittee will seek out and handle all regulatory issues in the name of the Society with the approval of the President or in his/her absence, the Vice President. Here the approval refers to the SiRA process for gathering the recommendations of the ISCB members and not the content of those recommendations. |
