Dear All,

The Neural Processing and Control Lab (NeuralPC Lab) at the University of
Rhode Island (URI), within the Department of Electrical, Computer, and
Biomedical Engineering (ECBE), is seeking a postdoctoral scholar in the
field of neural signal processing and machine learning algorithms. The
focus of the position will be on developing data fusion algorithms to
decode multimodal neural responses, including EEG and fNIRS. The candidate
is expected to be involved in all aspects of this research, including
experimental design, data collection, method development, signal analysis
and interpretation, manuscript preparation, and grant development. The
candidate may also contribute to ongoing virtual reality (VR)-based
brain-computer interface (BCI) projects and mentor graduate and
undergraduate students.

The candidate is expected to have a solid background in signal processing
and machine learning, with proficiency in MATLAB. Experience with the
analysis of neurophysiological data such as EEG and fNIRS is also required.
Candidates without demonstrated proficiency in these areas will not be
considered. Additionally, the candidate should possess excellent writing
and communication skills, as well as a strong work ethic.

The NeuralPC Lab is located in The Fascitelli Center for Advanced
Engineering, one of the most technologically advanced facilities in the
United States. It features flexible spaces for interdisciplinary
collaboration and essential equipment for forward-looking research. This
building is on the main campus in Kingston, an established, family-friendly
small community only five miles from Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic
Ocean. Kingston is in close proximity to popular tourist destinations like
Narragansett, Boston, and New York, yet still retains its small-town feel.

Applicants should email a CV, a brief personal statement including research
objectives, and contact information for two professional references to Dr.
Yalda Shahriari (yalda_s...@uri.edu). Review of applications will
begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

Best,
Yalda
