I am pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a motivated
researcher to join our project at the University of Granada, Spain. The
project focuses on exploring the sensitivity of novel biomarkers to
early symptoms of hearing loss. The selected candidate will work closely
with the Principal Investigator, medical researchers at the Virgen de
las Nieves University Hospital in Granada, and international
collaborators specializing in different disciplines.
About the Position
- Host institution: Department of Signal Theory, Telematics, and
Communications, University of Granada, and Virgen de las Nieves
University Hospital.
- Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or
mathematics, experience in MATLAB programming, proficiency in Spanish
and English (C1 or higher), and the ability to work in a
multidisciplinary team.
- Preferred qualifications: Experience in signal processing, machine
learning, EEG recording, psychoacoustic measurements, audiology,
scientific research, and dissemination. Candidates holding a PhD will be
given special consideration.
- Training will be provided where necessary to ensure successful
completion of tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing the ethics committee approval application.
- Conducting literature reviews.
- Designing and implementing psychoacoustic and electrophysiological
experiments.
- Recruiting participants with normal hearing and hearing difficulties.
- Collecting and analyzing data.
- Developing an automatic classifier using machine learning.
- Contributing to scientific publications and conference presentations.
- Preparing materials for scientific dissemination.
Conditions
- Full-time position.
- Duration: 1 year and 9 months (until March 2027), with a possibility
of extension subject to funding.
- Start date: 1st July 2025.
- Salary:
PhD holders: €28,000 gross per year (12 monthly payments).
Non-PhD holders: €22,000 gross per year (12 monthly payments).
