% -----------------------------

The division for Communication Acoustics at the Department of Medical
Physics and Acoustics, University of Oldenburg, Germany, seeks as soon
as possible a
Research Associate (m/f/d) in the field of speech enhancement for
hearing aids
(salary according to TV-L E13, 75%)

This is a three-year term position suitable to pursue a PhD project.

Background: Deep learning applied to acoustic data has enabled
breakthroughs for enhancing speech signals and specifically for speech
separation in multi-talker environments. However, deep-learning
algorithms are often not compatible with hearing aids, which require
low-latency processing with relatively small models. In this project, we
will create deep-learning solutions for next-generation hearing aids and
explore the benefits of machine learning in realistic acoustic conditions.

The project is funded by the DFG collaborative research center CRC1330
Hearing Acoustics, which aims at a better understanding of human
acoustic communication and is a long-term collaboration of researchers
from Oldenburg, Aachen and Munich. For more information about the CRC

The Communication Acoustics Division is part of the Department of
Medical Physics and Acoustics and offers an international scientific
environment as well as access to world-class research facilities. For
