Dear colleagues,

We are advertising a 2-year postdoctoral position in Neuroscience of Human Experience at the Mind, Brain and Behavior Research Center (CIMCYC), University of Granada (Spain).

The project addresses a central challenge in contemporary neuroscience, how to rigorously study subjective experience as a dynamic and time resolved neurophysiological process. It focuses on extreme physiological transitions such as intense physical exercise, sleep onset, and pain, which provide powerful experimental models of large scale reorganization of brain, body, and behavior.

A core objective of the project is methodological. We aim to validate and further develop Temporal Experience Tracing (TET) as a scientific tool to capture phenomenological experience moment by moment and link it to behavioral, physiological, and neural data. A key outcome will be the transformation of TET into an evidence based and openly accessible method for neuroscience and clinical research.

The position is based at CIMCYC (University of Granada, Spain) and is led by Prof Isabel Benítez and Prof Luis Ciria. The project includes international collaboration with Prof Tristán Bekinschtein (University of Cambridge, UK) and Prof Cornelia Neuert (GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, Germany).

We are looking for an active and motivated postdoctoral researcher with a background in neuroscience, psychology, cognitive science, or related fields. Experience with experimental design, physiological or neural data analysis, or a strong interest in consciousness, subjective experience, and research methodology is highly valued. We are particularly interested in candidates willing to take an active role in shaping the project, leading specific studies, and developing an independent research profile.

Expected start date is April–May 2026. The gross monthly salary is €2,700.
