This year, 21 students teamed up to continue to show that the University of Michigan - Dearborn students are truly the Leaders and Best. By applying what we learn in the classroom, with help from our awesome faculty in the ECE Department, including our faculty advisor Dr. Nattu Natarajan and also Dr. Samir Rawashdeh, we were able to represent the College of Engineering and Computer Science through our results, which includes over $15,000 in prize money!

Apart from our competitions, we also had many changes this year, including our move to a brand new lab space in the Institute for Advance Vehicle Systems. We also engaged in several outreach programs for the university, including Maker Faire Detroit, Engineering Experience Day, Celebrate Engineering Day, and other outreach programs for several area schools, such as Robichaud High School in Dearborn Heights and Henry Ford Elementary in Dearborn.

That being said, we are looking forward to another great year! Now that the summer semester is in full swing, our new president and leaders will continue to promote excellence through learning. While Jason Spurlock was going to take the Presidential role, he decided to concentrate on his classes this semester. Thus, Parham Moassesi will be taking over as President of the club! I have full confidence in Parham's abilities to manage and lead the team going forward, as well as Jason's role in an advisory capacity.

The other leaders:
Executive of Business: Erik Aitken
Executive of Public Relations: Ken Yesh
Executive of Logistics: Ryan Sheen
Team Zenith: Ben Pollatz
Team Yeti: Erik Aitken
Team Ohm: Angelo Bertani
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle team: Trevor Lerner

While this year's IGVC is still in progress, looking forward to a great competition in the next few weeks, we have other projects that we would like to see happen this year, including an underwater ROV (MATE) and a NASA Mars Rover.

If you are interested in learning more about what we are doing this year, or have any specific questions, please feel free to reply to this email! I also want to encourage you all to attend the next general meeting on Monday, June 1st at 6:00 PM, or stop by the club room in the IAVS High Bay and check out some of our ongoing projects!

Thank you!

Ben Pollatz
Former President, Intelligent Systems Club
