Google accounts active!

As many may already know the university is moving the email services to google. I don't know what the official launch date is, but I just checked and my account is already active. 

For those who want to know.

Student accounts moved some time last year. Faculty and rest will move on March 17.

 what are the benefits of using M-Google vs a simple Gmail account then ?!

UM/Google account are considered private account. So Google will not
go thru your email so they can
send ads etc. Also, the emails go thru two filters for spam (not sure
if that is a plus or a minus!)
