All…

We heard about a classroom activity today and wanted to check if you had heard anything about it so that we could piece together what actually happened.  We were told that the class was split in half and then each group performed some type of choreographed pile-on that ended up looking like a rugby scrum (as might be expected from a group of six year olds).  Apparently, the children at the bottom were squashed and felt like they couldn’t breathe.  But since the source of this information may not have the full picture, we were curious if you had heard any similar stories so that we could determine if this was truly what it's made out to be or not at all concerning.

Any insights are appreciated.  Thanks much…

They were split into groups for 2 different activities. One was a numbers activity, the other was an alphabet game.

Mares says that in one group, they had cards with pictures and had to match it to a vowel. At some point, everyone stampeded and some kids were a little smooshed. No one cried, and it sounds like no more than 9 kids were in each group, which doesn't mean it didn't hurt! Mares got smooshed, but characterizes the activity as super fun and no big deal.

Hope your girl was ok!!!

Hi James,
Lola reports that the only pile-on was of hands, as a team before throwing their arms up in the air during one of the activities. At gym they played with a large deflating ball, but according to her no one was on top of anybody else..
Regards,
Carlos

Hi

We spoke with Jacob and said that he and Alex bumped into one another and Alex fell while in class but he didn't remember anyone else getting hurt or upset.

Let us know if there is anything we can do
