Welcoming new Islamic Society of Baltimore Council

Assalam Alaikum wa Rahmatullah,

Alhamdulillah, the Islamic Society of Baltimore (ISB) held elections for the 2011-2013 ISB Council on March 27th.  I would like to thank the outgoing Council members for their outstanding performance over the past two years.  May Allah SWT bless and reward them for all their efforts.  

The following Council members have begun serving effective April 1st:

• Br. Muhammad Jameel, Vice President.  Br. Jameel served in the last Council as the ISB General Secretary and has been critical in the completion of the previous CLC construction phase.  
• Br. Farooq Marfani, Treasurer.  Br. Marfani has served multiple terms previously in the ISB Council and also leads the Funeral Services activities at ISB.
• Dr. Mohammed Abdul Khadeer, Secretary of Education.  Dr. Khadeer previously served two terms as Secretary of Membership and supports multiple activities at ISB.
• Br. Anwarul Haq, Secretary of General Services.  Br. Haq served the last Council in the same capacity and has done a admirable job in keep all the ISB facilities maintained.  
• Br. Hasan Hammad, Secretary of Membership Services.  Br. Hammad has been serving as the leader of the ISB Youth Group and has managed multiple community events including the annual ISB Summerfest.
• Br. Rehan Alavi, General Secretary.  Br. Alavi has been supporting the Information Technology group, Fundraising committee, and Quran Academy at ISB.

I pray that Allah SWT give them strength and wisdom to succeed for the benefit of the community. 

I would also like to acknowledge the Election committee for handling the entire process in a smooth and professional manner.  May Allah SWT reward them for all their efforts.
