Currently, I am trying to setup anydesk to remote support onto a pi going to be used in kiosk mode. I have anydesk installed and setup so that I'm able to connect but at the moment unable to create a new session or open up the normal window to view the settings panel to setup the custom settings I need.

I have run into similar problem; The official -pi source does not seem to work on my Pi 4 (with the most current Raspberry Pi OS). I managed to make it work by following this guide -pi-anydesk/ , it installs a specific version of Anydesk (also seen here -anydesk-raspberry-pi/ ).

We use anydesk on a regular basis as incoming and outgoing service and never had this problem. Maybe double check if server/client have the same anydesk version, since there auto update feature is still buggy.

I've tried all mega download links (should all be the same right?) to download the 64-bit anydesk version for xenialpup64 7.5, but I always get an "aborted" message when I run the anydesk script or binary.

I used an install of anydesk for awhile, not the portable. I once tried zooming with anydesk to display the camera from one computer to the other in a zoom meeting as an experiment. It kind of worked from what I remember, but my computer running zoom overheated and shut down!

I am fighting with some remote control applications such as teamviewer or anydesk. In each case I can not get my laptops to be a server. I would like to be able to get a remote display (or control) to any other linux machine or android smartphone.
I got too much issues on my system with teamviewer and am now trying hard to get anydesk working.

Indeed, anydesk run perfectly with Manjaro (KDE) and not on my system, so I guess a DE or something like this makes it working.
Do you have some advices on how I can find what is wrong with my session type?

Yes you are not supposed to be able to use these commands with sudo plainly like that, they will not have the dbus session of your user available, nor the X environment of your users xorg server. In case this is actually relevant, you should not try to sledgehammer problems by prepending sudo to commands willy nilly, that will often not lead to success. Are you trying to run the standard anydesk client as root despite not needing to? Then just don't and this also would explain your issues.

I'm not familiar with anydesk, but e.g. in the case of teamviewer there is a systemd service for starting the background daemon, once that is started the actual teamspeaker client has to be launched as your normal user..

About anydesk, I run it as my user on my normal seesion, I precise that I can connect to another device from my system but I can not in the opposit way, e.g. I can connect to my android smartphone, but not the opposit.

Just got stuck with the exactly same problem: Installed anydesk on my Arch desktop and Manjaro laptop. Manjaro is preconfigured somehow, Arch starts via xinitrc somehow (at least it starts directly into the desktop without asking me for my password, also no DM is installed). My .xinitrc is rather simple

Hi! Any progress here? I have the same problem. When log system with lightdm no problem to connect using anydesk. Howerver when use startx from tty anydesk cant connect with error "Remote display server is not supported". I have cloned all diff variables in lightdm session but problem persists. I dont know what anydesk is checking when connect, but one interesting thing is that if try to connect when no user is logged and lightdm is on screen the window for confirm connection appears in login screen.

I tried everything posted here, but without success, I can't have anydesk functional; I installed and ran archlinux with enlightenment, without login manager, everything is perfect but anydesk does not work; the moment I install xfce / kde / gnome, keeping the enlightenment, under xfce / kde / gnome it works without problems, but the moment I log out and log in enlightenment, ready, anydesk no longer works it crashes.
I also tried installing the entrance, but without success.
If you have any advice on what I could try, what I could do ....

I noticed that if I launch anydesk with a random number, anydesk with error message is launched, recipient that does not exist, and from the keyboard I can enter a real address, it connects, but no I have no control over the computer, nothing works neither mouse nor keyboard and I am forced to restart the computer. I have no idea why it doesn't work ....

In the security advisory (Feb 2), AnyDesk stated they "have revoked all security-related certificates and systems have been remediated or replaced where necessary," and "as a precaution, we are revoking all passwords to our web portal, my.anydesk.com, and we recommend that users change their passwords if the same credentials are used elsewhere."

Optimizations for System Administration

Version 7.1 is complemented by version 2 of my.anydesk, the company's Management Console. With it, administrators can assign permissions to user accounts and groups within AnyDesk to fine-tune their processes. Authorization profiles can be implemented intuitively and in a targeted manner. Overall, the new functionalities simplify processes and administration tasks. Additionally, security is ensured through multi-factor authentication (MFA).

AnyDesk CEO and Founder, Philipp Weiser, states that "AnyDesk 7.1 is an important step in our strategy to realize the added value of our solution even in complex company structures. Because of the expanded target market it provides, we can ensure further growth, which will help us finance the expansion of our product portfolio."

More security and convenience with the option of user login

The new version of AnyDesk offers the option of user login, which can be done either directly in the application or online. With it, AnyDesk enhanced its security and convenience. Not only that, but a simple sign-on (SSO) with existing accounts, such as Google or Facebook, is also supported. This simplifies new logins, as users do not have to create a new username and password.

Non-commercial users are also given the option to create an AnyDesk account, which allows access to functionalities such as the Address Book.

AnyDesk is introducing these product changes based on analysis of user data, which will allow the company to not only provide greater security to end users, but also to further reduce irregular activity within the AnyDesk network.
