We use a lot of LMAs routinely.
Any periphery surgery lasting less than 3 hours, we use normal LMA (as we have less no. of proseals)
Proseals are used for all laparoscopic procedures except if increased airway resistance or reduced chest compliance ex very obese, lung/ airway disorders,etc
Proseals are definitely better than routine LMAs for laparoscopy. Though occassionally we have had rise in EtCO2 and airway pressures even with proseals for longer duration gas insufflations and obese patients.
I have never used i gel. so no experience with it. But would want to know your experiences.
