Hi there,
We are trying to implement ISA is a completely new research domain: prognostics and health maintenance (PHM). Check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prognostics for additional info.

Is there precise documentation available so that we can understand how to map the concepts in the ISA model to our field? Preferably in RDF format.

Of course we have the documentation from the python api and the https://isa-specs.readthedocs.io/en/latest/. But, I feel there is still quite a bit of room for different interpretations.

We've come a long way so far, but a key difference between the plant/medical/life sciences and PHM is that we 'need' a more elaborate way to describe the physical objects that are being tested. I see room for model expansion here.

Cheers

Hi Wouter,

Thank you for the interest and for reaching out.

To best assist, would you be able to share a document with the key entities and their attributes in your domain? Is this something you maintain in an open code repository?

In the meantime, I'll point you to 2 things:

1. JSON-LD context files for ISA:

https://github.com/ISA-tools/isa-api/tree/develop/isatools/resources/json-context

with mapping of ISA objects and their attributes to RDF vocabularies/Ontologies such as wikidata, obo foundry ontologies, semantic integrated science and schema.org (partial)

we also have an incomplete alignment with W3C vocabularies (PROV-O, DCAT) but not yet available from our public repository

2. ISAterms vocabulary

https://purl.org/isaterms

Disclaimer: not maintained

Best

P.

Hi Philippe,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I will share a document with you. We do not have this in a repository yet.

We'll prepare this document and share it with you. Maybe we could have a teams meeting then to discuss our thoughts. Would you be willing to do so?

Wouter
