ISAcreator

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to test ISA creator (v. 1.7.8) on the last implementation of macOS (10.12.3). Launching fails, as it requires a legacy Java version (the 1.6.x), which is not recommended because of security reasons (and compatibility with many programs that use 1.7.x or 1.8.x).

Is there a plan to update the ISA tools series for compatibility with a more modern Java version?

Dear Mathias

At the EBI are running ISAcreator on both 1.7 and 1.8 with no obvious problems.

If you download our ISAcreatorMetaboLights bundle, you can see the shell script we use for MetaboLights.  It’s ISAcreator with our config files (metabolomics) and out metabolite annotation file plugin. But don’t have to use these of course, just look at the scripts in case this helps.

Anyway the bundle is downloadable from here: ftp://ftp.ebi.ac.uk/pub/databases/metabolights/submissionTool/ISAcreatorMetaboLights.zip

We are about to release a new build of Isa creator bringing up to Java 1.8 compatibility, addressing a range of issues which have been niggling users. 

Stay tuned,  we'll advertise the release shortly

It works with Java 1.7 and 1.8.
