I am contacting you in order to ask you for your support in advertising the Young Innovators Competition, a great opportunity for young people in your country. Please kindly pass the information to the relevant national administrations of Vanuatu who could in turn spread the word among young women and men who might be interested in applying. We are sure that there are a lot of bright minds such as university students who would like to participate.

The Young Innovators Competition is a platform for innovative ideas and digital creativity. The aim is to seek out talented young thinkers and social technopreneurs across the globe, and to encourage them to showcase their innovative ideas at the upcoming ITU Telecom World 2014 in Doha in December this year. The competition is open to 18-30 year-old young people from across ITU’s 193 member states.

Partnering with the World Health Organization (WHO) we just launched our third of several challenges this year, focused on ‘Smart Cities and Climate Change’. We will be accepting ideas until October 7, 2014 for this challenge. You can find the flyer in the attachment. Feel free to share or print it, and to distribute it.

Please find more information in the Press Release. It is available in the six official UN languages, English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Russian, and Chinese.

You can also learn more about the competition at http://telecomworld.itu.int/take-part/innovate/. For any further material or assistance, please email us at young.in...@itu.int.

Best regards,

Robin Zuercher

The ITU Telecom Young Innovators Team
