Biosignal processing and deep learning for unstructured medical data analysis
The AIMLab. at the Technion is looking for a postdoctoral researcher or senior data scientist in biosignal processing and deep learning for unstructured data analysis. The researcher will work on developing deep learning and signal processing algorithms for the analysis of unstructured medical data. Specifically, spatio-temporal physiological data and imaging data. This position is appropriate for PhD graduates in applied machine learning or industry senior data scientists looking for an academic research position in the field of medical machine learning.
A typical candidate for this position will have:
- Strong programming skills/programming in Python.
- Signal processing, machine learning & deep learning.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in scientific English.
- Experience using source code control.
- Experience in analysis of unstructured data and handling large databases.
- Ability to work both as part of a team (team-player), and independently (self-driven) for extended periods of time.
- A desire to co-mentor graduate students at MSc and PhD levels.
- A PhD in a related area (e.g. BME/CS/EE/IE/Math). Although, experience also counts! It is all about what you can do at the end of the day.
You will also have the opportunity to learn about teaching, mentorship, group/project management and grant writing. The primary work locations will be at the Technion main campus and at the TERA space located at Rambam hospital. Both are in Haifa, Israel. The position is for one year with a possibility to extend.
Environment: The candidate will be part of the AIMLab. at the Technion which is currently host to 12 graduate students all working in the field of medical machine learning and with background in Biomedical Engineer, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Your research will directly impact healthcare while you will have the intellectual freedom to explore new research paradigms.
