2025 ISA - IPS Section Announcements

Dear IPS Members, 

We hope this email finds you well and that you’ve made safe travels to Chicago! 

We have a few IPS Section announcements to make. 

1. The 2025 IPS Business Meeting will happen on Tuesday, March 4th, from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, at the Stevens Salon C-3, Chicago Hilton.

2. Right after, we will celebrate our 2025 IPS Distinguished Scholar, João Pontes Nogueira, with an amazing panel featuring Nadine Voelkner, Jana Tabak, Ritu Vij, Micheal J. Shapiro, Renata Summa, and Jef Huysmans. Happening also on Tuesday, March 4th, from 1:45pm to 3:30pm, at the Stevens Salon C-3, Chicago Hilton.

3. Finally, the 2025 IPS-STAIR joint reception will also happen on Tuesday, March 4th, from 7pm to 8pm, at the Stevens Salon A1, Chicago Hilton. At the reception, we will celebrate Dr. Katherine Jensen, the winner of the 2025 IPS Best Book Award for the book “The Color of Asylum: The Racial Politics of Safe Haven in Brazil“ (University of Chicago Press, 2023). We will also celebrate Sarah Then Bergh, the winner of the 2025 IPS Best Graduate Paper Award for the amazing paper “The Sounds that Nations Play: Music, Affect, and Humanitarian Intervention in German Foreign Policy”!
