Dear Officers of the the ISA International Political Sociology Section (IPS),
As you may know, ISA has not yet updated its section information for 2025-2026. So I am sending this to the recent chair and vice-chiar, who I assume is the current chair, as well as other IPS members who might know me, in the hopes that someone can make sure this gets to the correct IPS person for distribution. Now, onward with my message:
The IPE Outstanding Activist Scholar (OAS) Award Committee is welcoming nominations for the IPE Outstanding Activist Scholar (OAS) Award, between now and April 5, 2025.
The OAS Award is to be given to a person who has successfully occupied activist and academic spaces; whose scholarship embodies their work within activist communities; and whose scholarship reaches both academic and activist audiences. The OAS Award is meant to complement the IPE Distinguished Scholar Award. For more information about the Award, see: <https://www.isanet.org/Programs/Awards/IPE-Outstanding-Activist-Scholar> As you will see, past recipients are Susan George, Walden Bello, Frances Moore Lappé, Richard Falk, Mike Davis, David Graeber, Naomi Klein, Angela Davis, Margaret Levi, Medea Benjamin, Jackie Smith (cc-d here), Galia Golan, Heikki Patomäki, Teivo Teivainen, and Manuela Picq.
