My name is Timbur-Helgi Hermannsson, neologistic poet and loan-word
extreminator in Icelandic.
David Crystal may be a brilliant man in the eyes of many, but as for me
he is an ASSHOLE. He insulted Icelandic culture by saying publicly at
the university of Iceland that linguistic purism is a curse. If you
are a decent person you take the susceptibilities of a your hosts into
account. Icelanders have proven that linguistic purism doesn't have to
lead to language-impoverishment or loss of flexibility. Icelandic is
rich enough to exterminate all loans.
He thinks that he is the defender of endangered languages, no the
ICELANDIC NATION is the spiritual leader in language ecology. They are
the prime example of the total prevalation on foreign influence in the
mother-tongue.
David Crystal is the representatve of the most destructive language
ever seen: English.
Such a man should never again set foot on Icelandic soil. Purism is
great if the neologistic efforts are phenomenal.
I, Timbur-Helgi Hermannson will keep on going to extremes to create an
ultrapure model of the Icelandic language (High Icelandic or
Háfrónska).
