Hello Irvington Families-

This week, May 4-8th, is Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week. As you can imagine, it is particularly important this year to reach out and thank teachers and staff for the work they are doing to essentially build a distance learning plan at the same time they are teaching it. It's not possible for us to treat our teachers to the usual breakfasts, coffee orders and Por Que No? lunches that we usually do, but we were able to come up with a plan that allows us to treat teachers and give back to an Irvington family owned business that has supported us in many ways over the last 6 years. Teachers and staff will be treated with gift cards from Por Que No? Principal Chargualaf will facilitate passing these to staff, who have limited access to the building this week.  Please feel free to come decorate the sidewalk in front of the school with encouraging messages of gratitude for our teachers and staff. If you can, have your children send messages via email, or during their class meetings.

This time is stressful for us all, but more so for teachers, who are balancing teaching our kids as well as their own.

Be considerate, patient and kind. Give praise, and constructive criticism, not judgement. Nobody could've planned for this, but with the help of Irvington educators, we are getting through this, and for that we give gratitude.
