This is described by the district as an opportunity to get input on
needs & suggestions - they don't expect to be answering any questions
substantively because they don't have a finished plan. The goal is to
influence the shape of that plan. They have been quite open and
receptive to hearing from parents, and have said that there will be
several more meetings and opportunities for TAG parents to be
involved
in the design process. Some of that receptivity may come from the
level
of parent activity they have already seen - keep it up!
The meeting will be started with a presentation put together by
Allison
Abell from the input of many parents, outlining the needs of TAG
students in High School which the redesign should address. She'll be
previewing her presentation and gathering last-minute feedback at an
informal Access PTA gathering this evening at Sabin (Thursday 6:30-8
pm). The tone she is emphasizing is cooperative - framing things in
terms the district has already used to describe its goals for TAG
students and for the new HS system.
Also, please continue to WRITE to the board members and
administrators.
Let them know your opinions at every opportunity!
Thanks
The point person on this, much to her dismay, has turned out to be:
Allison Abell <alliso...@mac.com>
She rocks, and if she cries out for help, she means it!
