For 40 years, the Magic Mushroom Children’s Summer Program has been serving the community by providing superior summer enrichment activities for children ages 3 years through sixth grade.  This year we have 38 children in the program.  The five day-a-week, half-day program is anchored in the church with traditional bible school studies and enhanced with a wide variety of arts and crafts.  Paint, clay, sculpture, and collage are but a few areas that the children explore.  Music is an integral part of the program and physical education classes meet twice each week.  Field trips are held on Fridays, this year with outings to Lincoln Park Zoo, Maggie Daley Park and a theater production that was held in the church and included students from Independence Park Day Camp.
