June 2023 project updates:

1. Bill Barber Memorial Park Gym planning update

We met with the Director of Project Delivery, Sean Crumby and recommended that the city consider a 2 storey gym design where one floor can accommodate up to 16 badminton courts.  Presentation is available here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10p7Np2IpbKrmPVmgwq5tuCcXsOb1Geou/view?usp=sharing

2. Indoor Badminton Program Update

The city will expand the current weekday play for the indoor badminton program at Irvine High School to Tuesday and Thursday nights during the month of June. Please visit https://www.cityofirvine.org/racket-sports/badminton for more information. 

3. Irvine High School Badminton Teams

We understand there are some students who want to organize badminton teams in their respective high schools to participate in the CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) competition.

If you or you know any students who are enrolled or will be enrolling in any of the Irvine High Schools who are interested, please email us and we will connect you to the respective high school student that is trying to make this happen.
