So far after 5 min on lo-med heat in a small dutch oven

- 4 thinly sliced onions

- 'pinch' of sea salt

- lots of EVOO

one hint-usually served in a lions' head bowl?

My first guess was French onion soup, but a lion's head bowl? Inquiring minds want to know!
