Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) developed the Heavy Duty Truck (HDT) Model to evaluate important policy choices and investment decisions. The HDT model is a primary analysis tool to support the goods movement policy decisions made by SCAG and regional stakeholders.

As part of 2012-2035 Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP/SCS), the HDT model focused on analytical needs to support project and policy planning in the following key areas:

The model development process included a thorough review of the HDT model by an expert panel that ranged from academics to Consultants. The HDT model was validated by comparing the overall vehicle miles traveled (VMT) for individual counties and air basins against the data obtained from the Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS).

Port Model Development: This includes the port model development that predicts the HDT trips coming out of and going into the San Pedro ports, which includes the Port of Long Beach (POLB) and Port of Los Angeles (POLA).

The VN line was introduced in 1996 with a revolutionary aerodynamic shape to dramatically improve fuel efficiency. The low-profile hood and contoured features have influenced every other North American aero truck design since.

The next generation Volvo D13TC was first launched in 2019 and delivers up to 6% greater fuel efficiency than the D13 VGT. Now standard in our most popular VNL models, the D13TC turns potentially wasted energy back into horsepower that gets put back into the system to reduce fuel consumption.

The next generation Volvo D13TC engine will now come standard in all VNL 740, 760 and 860 sleeper models. Originally introduced for customers with long-haul, steady-speed operations, the next generation 13-liter Volvo D13TC can now provide fuel savings for almost any customer in any application.

The various model series, 3100 (1/2 ton), 3600 (3/4 ton), 3800 (1 ton), etc, usually appeared only on the hood side-scripts and in the ad literature and service books... I have never seen those four-digit model "names" appear as part of the serial number on any Advance Design trucks I have seen over the years...

Usually, the vehicle serial number (on the aluminum tag on the drivers front door pillar) starts-out with a Letter/number combination indicating the model year and model class; my '54 3/4 ton serial begins J 54 B ______; my '55 first-series begins P 55 B ______. The letter indicates the weight/model class ( H= 3100 1/2 ton; J= 3600 3/4 ton; K= 3800 1 ton; P= 4400 1-1/2 ton), the next two digits are the model year... the letter "B" indicates that my trucks were produced at the Broening Highway plant in Baltimore.

That serial plate is quite a bit different than the ones on US models ( lithographed aluminum; silver letters on a black or blue background... usually the colored background is worn away and about the only thing legible is the stamped serial # !).

When I was growing-up outside of Baltimore, MD, mid'70s, there was a truck-body company along US Route 40: Fed-R-Line Truck Bodies, and one of their employees had a truck just like yours: '48-'50 Chevy 3800 1-ton pick-up. I used to wonder why the pick-up box looked like it was "sitting high" on the chassis...

Just starting to restore my truck - looks exactly like yours. I'm pretty sure it's a 1952. Hoist. Model 1434. Body serial 135. Serial number 2143401525. Canadian truck!! Saskatchewan plates too. It came out of Wakaw, SK. Hope to share with you a few pictures and could use your help figuring out my serial number on the truck.

Detailed scale model. Not suitable for children under 14 years. Please refer to safety notes in enclosed instruction leaflet. Colours and contents may differ from those illustrated. Please retain these details and the address for future reference.

100% electric. 100% Mack. The LR Electric delivers the same comfort, visibility and reliability as the diesel-powered LR, making it the most durable, hardworking electric refuse truck on the streets today.

Volvo FH is one of the industry's most successful models ever with nearly 1.4 million trucks sold, in around 80 markets all over the world. New from the wheels up, offering excellent driveability and fuel efficiency, the Volvo FH quickly came to represent a completely new standard in truck driving when it was launched in 1993. 30 years later, Volvo FH is truly iconic.

On the exterior design side, the rear-view mirrors with a unique slim design that gives better direct vision for the driver, and the V shaped headlamps, offering both improved visibility and comfort for the driver while giving the truck its distinctive appearance, are two examples of how Volvo technology and design are used to add valuable benefits for the driver.

Ugears wonders if you have ever imagined yourself behind the wheel of a large powerful truck, cruising down the highway, alone in your thoughts, watching the landscape pass by. There has always been a certain romance or mystique to the long-haul trucker, the last of the cowboys. With a powerful team of horses under the hood, the trucker is the biggest guy (or gal) on the road, and sometimes the loneliest. But he's got the freedom of the open road, ever-changing office views, and a workplace as big as the country itself. Whether you're an independent owner operator or a dedicated company man, time on the road clears your head and makes you cherish time at home with your family even more. It's early morning: the mist crawling along the highway fills the air with a sleepy chill. Grab a strong coffee at the truckstop, put on your favorite music, and let your imagination take you on a long-haul journey in the Ugears Heavy Boy Truck VM-03.

The prototype of a modern heavy truck was invented by the American Alexander Winton in 1898. Winton produced cars in a small factory located in Cleveland, and because he needed to get them to customers in different parts of the United States without putting mileage on the cars' odometers, he developed the concept of a heavy truck that could transport large-scale cargoes using a trailer. But the widespread use of trailer trucks really started with the development of asphalt roads in the 1920s, and took off with the formation of the U.S. Interstate Highway System in 1956. Today truckers, the unsung heroes of the highway, transport nearly three-fourths of all freight in the U.S. Without trucks, and the men and women behind the wheel, the economies of every nation on earth would grind to a halt.

Robust and powerful, the Ugears long-hauler has a six-cylinder R6 engine driven by a rubber band motor. This DIY model truck can go for about 5 meters on a single winding. The wooden model truck's transmission system has three modes: forward, back and idle. The front wheels are sprung with shock absorbers, and can turn to set the 3D puzzle truck's direction. The detailed design includes all iconic elements of a classic American conventional cab semi-tractor truck: ten wheels (two up front on the steering axle, and four sets of paired wheels on the drive axles), a functional fifth wheel trailer coupling, a giant grille, air cleaners, two big exhaust pipes running up the side of the cab, roof fairing, air horns, external fuel tanks, two sets of mirrors, and a small step ladder mounted under the cabin door for convenient access.

But this is a Ugears truck, and we are known for going the extra mile by including delightful additional details and touches of whimsy in our wooden mechanical 3D puzzles. Inside the cab you'll find a shovel and a gas can, and for the tired driver, the Heavy Boy offers a cozy sleeping berth with a TV set for watching Convoy, Smokey and the Bandit, Every Which Way But Loose, and the chase scene from License to Kill!

The wooden mechanical model Heavy Boy Truck VM-03 consists of 541 parts, with an estimated 8-9 hours for assembly. Finished tractor truck model size is 30.5 x 13 x 10cm. The Trailer consists of 138 parts, and can be assembled in about two hours. Finished trailer model size is 36.5 x 12 x 16cm.

The Heavy Boy Truck VM-03 has everything you need for assembly included in the model kit. The quality of the parts is top-notch: a laser method is used to make precise hairline cuts in a wood composite board. Just push the pieces out and snap them together to create a complete model. No glue or special tools are required. Like all Ugears models, the Heavy Boy Truck VM-03 comes with step-by-step, full-color, easy-to-follow instructions in 11 languages (Ukrainian, English, German, French, Polish, Spanish, Russian, Turkish, Italian, Chinese and Korean). If you break a part during assembly, just let our customer service team know. Replacement parts are free, as part of our overall commitment to customer service.

The Heavy Boy Truck VM-03 will appeal to any boy or girl who ever got a trucker to blow the air horn, to grown-ups who dream of the open road, to dedicated car and truck modellers, to lovers of 3D puzzles, or to anyone who appreciates outstanding, realistic design with attention to every detail. Now's your chance to join the parade (Smokey bear don't like it when we call it a convoy)! Hit the road today with the Heavy Boy Truck VM-03 and Trailer from Ugears. C'mon, c'mon, c'mon let's truck together!

On August 5, 2021, EPA announced plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful air pollutants from heavy-duty trucks through a series of rulemakings over the next three years. The first rulemaking of this Clean Trucks Plan was the recently finalized rule, Control of Air Pollution from New Motor Vehicles: Heavy-Duty Engine and Vehicles Standards, signed on December 20, 2022. Two additional rulemakings, the Phase 3 greenhouse gas proposal and the proposal for multi-pollutant emissions standards for light-duty and medium-duty vehicles, are expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
