IRPS Day

Dear All,

On the initiative of our respected PRM I hereby propose to hold the meet of all IRPS officers, which could be celebrated as the first IRPS Day. A separate meeting of Young IRPS Officers may also take place on the sidelines of IRPS Day meet. This kind of get-together will not only provide all of us an opportunity to share our experiences in field, but also it would be great fun and a welcome break from monotony.

This mail is basically to decide on the dates and venue of the meeting. Kindly propose suitable dates and venue in next few days over this chain mail. 14-19 April could be a good period as many holidays fall over the week, but Railway Week celebrations have to be kept in mind. The venues could be some big city where accommodations could be conveniently arranged. The cities may be chosen between Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore or even Vadodara. I can make some good arrangements in case Kolkata is chosen. 

Once the venue and dates are decided, some of us can plan our duties to the venue city. Once the decisions on these issues are taken, we can start working on the nitty-gritties.

So, lets start the discussion...

Dear Friends,

                      Abhishek has set the ball rolling with the proposal and I agree that we should meet. My personal opinion is that the first meet should be in Delhi as most of us would be able to find some other means of accommodation, if and when our ORH bookings fail. As regards the IRPS day, I think it could be observed on any other day rather than the day we meet - probably the day the first batch joined in 1980. As for the dates, not the week that Abhishek has proposed, the end of April or May, please. And further I propose that we should close this discussion after a month's time ie 15 March with a decision on the date and place, otherwise it would be never ending.

So 2 votes for Delhi and 1 for Kolkata...lets complete the discussion by March,15 as suggested by our ex-CR.
