Out of State P-Car Purchase

I'm looking at a new car. Local choices are limited and many folks
have purchased out of state. How best does one actually arrange
transfer of funds/title/possession in these transactions? I plan to
have a local PCA recommended shop perform a PPI on my behalf before
any final arrangement.

It's clear people do this sort of thing successfully. Here is a
reference from Otto S from a previous question regarding transporting
cars:

"Most of the sites you find on the internet bid it out to
independent
transporters. I have purchased three cars (2 Porsches) from out
state
sellers (TX, FL and NC) and have used 3 different carriers."
