Thanks to some help from a few friends, I've been able to deploy Iron Foundry behind a proxy for the first time. The changes to the install process are really easy, and I've documented the process as a Help article on the ironfoundry.org site.

If anyone has any issues or questions about it, feel free to respond to this post!

Is there anything special I need to be doing proxy wise to get the Ruby portion of the install to work?  I've been going around it for a couple of days now but keep ending up with the install-prerequisites script spitting out "ERROR: While executing gem .. (Errno::EADDRNOTAVAIL)" when it hits the "Updating Ruby gems" step.

Hi, Tim,

Did you follow the steps outlined in the help article, http://www.ironfoundry.org/help/installing-behind-proxy.html . That was enough to get it working for me through a proxy.

Yes which got me through a couple of other errors I was having but haven't been able to get past the Ruby gems issue.

Hi, Tim,

In the same VM where you’ve been trying this, could you try opening a new powershell window, following the instructions on the web page below, and run "gem update" from there, please? And if it fails, could you send me the output of the command? I’ve been able to do exactly what you’re saying using just the instructions in the webpage, so I’m wondering where the context is different in your case.

Thanks,
bab
