So. First announced near the beginning of our reign, and the
Ironmountains.org front page was updated. On July 3rd the schedule was
posted on the IM forums and the Facebook. On the 17th (8 days before
the tournament) it was posted again on IM.org and the facebook. Not to
mention the standing post of our imperial calendar.

There is a difference between a heads up, and people refusing to stay
in the loop, or go out of their way to find out information that
relates to them. If this is in fact a failure in communication on our
part, how best can we reach you and others for this sort of event?

We also ran announcements on the IM google group, which I made several posts encouraging everyone to join as it will email (or even text announcements if you so choose) directly to you, made announcements during the several all-Empire conference calls that we've had so far, and put out updates to the Empire's meetup group as well. I am sorry you feel out of the loop, but unfortunately, it is not for lack of communication attempts on Robin's and my behalf. I suggest you join/follow one of the aformentioned communication avenues so that you don't feel neglected in the future.

I feel in the loop.  Sadly I just don't have the time.  I wouldn't have entered anything in the DM, but obviously would have been there for WM.  I think the problem lies with amtgard just isn't good with communication, at least response wise.  It also depends on how bad do people want it.  I check the IM website, Facebook and look at my email on a daily basis, so I stay informed constantly.  I currently don't see the "drive" for a lot of people.  Not saying everyone should do what I do, but if people really cared, they would at least show up.

Maybe give people an incentive for showing up.  A BBQ, or extra credits for new people, who knows.

Thanks again for all your help.  Keep kicking butt.  I appreciate and receive communication

I think the main difference is age.  Not physical age, but age in the game.  I think you are excited and have a lot of attention, because you have only been in for a year or two.  I think average amtgard age at our park is 7 years.  We need some new players to keep the excitement going.

I think the Monarch does a good job getting the info out there, but you are right there isn't a lot of responses.  We need more open communication, but you can't force people to do that.
