OpenID authentication

Hi all,

Is there a way to use OpenID authentication with iRODS? Perhaps this
is a silly question -- I ask because we're looking at interop with a
webapp that uses OpenID authentication.

Hi Matt!

There is currently no iRODS authentication mechanism in place to work
with OpenID.

It would probably not be too complicated to make iRODS a relying party
and use an OpenID Identity Provider though. The plugin architecture
should make that fairly straightforward. It would probably look most
similar to the PAM plugin over any of the others.

If you pursue it, please let us know and we may be able to help test
and get it into CI.
