Hi,

I see there have been some discussions about how to handle the errors coming from irepl in recursive mode both in google groups and also on the github issues. In some cases it's expected that irepl report the errors instead of remain silent; however, the behavior that I would like to see is that for a large collection, e.g. a whole zone, the replication can continue regardless of the errors encountered on individual data objects. As far as I understand, irepl (v4.2.12 or newer versions) do not support an --ignore-errors flag, which might solve the current issue.

Without the ignore-errors flag the issue I see at the moment is that to complete the replication of the collection requires manual intervention on the errored data objects one by one. I'd rather attempt to complete a first replication pass with all the valid data objets, report the errored ones in a log, and deal with these at the end.

Please, let me know whether an ignore-errors flag could be expected in a new version of irods commands.

Best regards,
Francisco
