Best "programming language" to develop a web GUI for iRODS using PAM authentication

Hi everybody,

We would like to develop a web GUI for iRODS requiring PAM authentication. What would be the best "API" for such a GUI?

Is there by any chance news on python client supporting PAM?

Has anyone tried the 'qt webengine' to write a client interface to iRODS?

Any suggestions, comments or experiences are very much appreciated.

Hi,

I coded a desktop gui with python-irodsclient. Thanks to Antoine and Terrel's help, it's quite portable (Linux/Windows/MacOS).

The gui itself is named "brocoli" and can be found here: https://github.com/mesocentre-mcia/brocoli.

Although it's quite experimental, you may give it a try easily (ususally, "pip install brocoli" will be enough).

There is no PAM support at this point but I would be happy to help if I can.

Thank you for your reply and suggestion. Brocoli indeed seems promising. However, PAM authentication is a high priority requirement for us.
