Hello iRods users:

I would like to be able to upload files to my iRods space, from a machine that is not an iRods client.  The iCat server has the DFC clouds browser installed, and it works fine with PAM authentication.  However I want a command line way of doing it (like curl or wget, for example), so that I can automate the process.  I want to automate backing up of files on a weekly basis.  And I can't want to make the machine an iRods client.  I would appreciate any help I can get with this.

There is a webdav client for iRODS you can consider installing.  After that, any backup service should work fine.

Thanks,

There are iRODS iCommands which are unix utilities.
The irsync command will synchronize a directory on your laptop with a directory in the data grid.

The iCommands can be loaded onto your system through a Docker container.  This will require installation of a Docker engine.
Or the iCommands can be installed directly if your are running a Unix system.
