pep_api_data_obj_put_pre/post prevent the audit plugin from logging to Elasticsearch

Hi all,

The following 'rules' in a .re file

pep_api_data_obj_put_pre(...){ 

...
}

pep_api_data_obj_put_post(...){ 

...
}

pep_api_data_obj_unlink_pre

prevent the audit plugin from logging, these PEPs, to Elasticsearch (under irods_version - 4.3.4).

Do you know if there is a workaround?

Hi Venus,

Based on what you've shared, I can only assume the following:

• (A) The audit plugin is not listed above the iRODS rule language (NREP) plugin
• (B) Or, you need to return RULE_ENGINE_CONTINUE from those PEPs
• See https://docs.irods.org/4.3.4/plugins/pluggable_rule_engine/#configuration-server_configjson for more details

If (A) is true, try making the audit plugin the first entry in the rule_engines list and see what happens.
