Fall 2014 Cultural Outreach Events and
Eleventh Anniversary Celebration
We are pleased to announce that our Center is celebrating its Eleventh Anniversary as a Center for Excellence at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas.
Come celebrate with us by attending our December cultural event. 
This event is first-come, first-served.  Please advise us in advance of any mobility issues. There is a minimal charge for our concerts.

A Celtic Christmas with Danny O’Flaherty
When: 2 pm

children and UST faculty, staff and students free
Seating is first-come, first-served;
seats reserved for those with mobility restrictions
Celtic balladeer Danny O’Flaherty will bring the precious ancient gifts of music, song and especially storytelling to UST for one performance only.  His mesmerizing songs and tantalizing stories will rekindle the true Christmas spirit in every audience member’s heart.  Through powerful songs and stories, Danny will paint a vivid picture of his childhood in Ireland and the customs of the Celtic nations surrounding Christmas.   We welcome you to celebrate the true Christmas spirit of the Celtic Nations of Ireland, Wales, and Scotland, as well as such areas as Cornwall, Brittany, Galicia, Astoria and the Isle of Man.

About Our Center
Our nationally and internationally renowned Flynn Center for Irish Studies is one of UST’s five Centers for Excellence and features academic, cultural outreach and study abroad programs.  We provide our students with a broad array of interdisciplinary courses taught by UST faculty and Irish Visiting Scholars.  The Irish Studies program offers a minor in Irish Studies at the undergraduate level and a concentration in Irish Studies in the Master of Liberal Arts program at the graduate level.  Most of our courses are open for the public to audit at a discounted rate.
