2013 Ladder

Hi folks

Now that all the rules matters are settled, we can kick off the Ladder again for 2013. Entry is open to all IGA members (you can renew your membership with Rory if you haven't already) and I'd encourage everyone to enter. It really is a great opportunity to play tournament quality games throughout the year.

The key rule changes are:

use Japanese overtime of 5 periods of 30 seconds rather than Canadian

the Ladder now counts as an A class tournament for Korea points

if challenger and defender can't establish an mutually acceptable alternate venue, games will be played in the Ireland room on KGS.

the nationality and rank requirements for earning Korea points have been removed

If you would like to play in this year's ladder, please email lad...@irish-go.org. Marek, I already have you down. Paul Kelly, you enquired before Marek so just confirm that you do want to play and you will start one rung above Marek.

If you played in the 2012 ladder, your starting place will be based on your finishing position in 2012 provided you confirm that you want to play before the end of February. Otherwise, if you change your mind later, you'll start at the bottom.

I'll knock up a new spreadsheet in the next couple of days. I'm having a few computer issues at the moment so it might take a few days, but it should be before the end of the week.
