Colleagues, you may find the following items of interest, with apologies for cross-posting:

The 7th North/South Irish Criminology Conference will be held in the Institute of Technology, Sligo, Ireland between the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of June 2011.
As Organiser of the event, I am pleased to issue a second call for papers.
Papers to be submitted by March 1st, 2011. Please inform interested colleagues.
I have set up a website for the 7th North/South Conference with details here: http://www.irishcriminology7.webs.com

I have also had the honour of being invited to edit the current edition of the Prison Journal, with a focus on Irish Prisons. This edition can be accessed here: http://tpj.sagepub.com/content/91/1.toc

The Prison Journal's special issue on Ireland features a range of in depth articles from criminologists and penologists including Cormac Behan, Mary Rogan, Agnieszka Martynowicz, Linda Moore, and finally Liam Leonard and Paula Kenny, both of whom have been central to the establishment of Ireland's only Custodial Care Programme.

This programme is aimed at training Recruits in Human Rights, Criminology, Penology and Equality & Diversity. This training has become all the more significant in light of the recent Report on Irish Prisons issued by the CPT:

In addition, I would like to draw your attention to two new online Criminology Publications.
The first is a Spanish Language journal titled Criminología Y Justica. CYJ is available here: http://crimyjust.blogspot.com/
The second is CYJ's US based sister publication Criminology and Justice: http://criminologyjust.blogspot.com/
These publications are edited by Jose Manuel Servera Rodriguez and Elizabeth Hall respectively.

Kindest Regards, Liam  Leonard PhD,
Editor: Journal of Social Criminology
Organiser: 7th Irish Criminology Conference
