- About the Group

The Irish Charity Web Group is for people who work in or with charities specifically in the area of the web – including design, development, campaigning, fundraising, content and communications. It's organised and moderated by Jean O'Brien of Digital Charity Lab.

- Sending & Receiving Messages

You have the choice of receiving each post to this group as an individual email, receiving a digest email with a summary or reading all messages on the Google group page. You can control this under Edit My Settings in http://groups.google.com/group/irish-charity-web.

When you're contacting the group, please start a new discussion if you are talking about a new topic. With email, all you need to do is change the subject line. Please keep subject lines descriptive so it’s easy for people to refer back to the messages.

- Adding New Members

If you have colleagues or friends who work with the web for a charity please do encourage them to join. Send them this link which has all the details they need: https://www.digitalcharitylab.org/our-services/discussion-group/. The group is open to people who work for charities and campaigns; and agencies, freelancers and consultants. It's not open to vendors (eg fundraising platforms); this is so members can speak freely about their experiences with suppliers. If you're a consultant / agency, please don't use this group for sales pitches, although it is fine to offer your services in response to specific requests.

- Nicknames

Please put your name and the charity you work for into your Google Group nickname so we all know who we're talking to. You can change this under Edit My Settings in http://groups.google.com/group/irish-charity-web.

I also highly recommend you sign up the Fairsay eCampaigners mailing list - it's a list of over 2,000 digital charity types from all over the world, it's very active and extremely useful.
