Hey folks,

After a bit over 4 years working on IREE, and helping more recently with the bring-up of OpenXLA, I have decided to depart the project. This means stepping down from the interim steering committee and no longer maintaining or contributing to the GitHub repositories. This was of course a difficult decision, but I have been feeling pretty burnt out lately and have other interests I'd like to pursue.

This will be my last week on the project with a final day of this Friday (2023-07-14). I'm going to be taking a break for some time off and then figure out what I'm doing next, but it's unlikely to be in the ML compilers space.

It has been an honor being part of bringing MLIR and IREE to the open source community. I'll be keeping an eye on how the project progresses :-)

Cheer,
Geoffrey

Geoffrey, thank you for everything you've done over the years -- I will certainly miss the vociferous enthusiasm with which you went after problems. You will be deeply missed, both around these parts and as someone who I had the privilege to get to know better.

Best of luck on recharging and finding your next thing.

Geoffrey,

Thank you for everything you've done for the OpenXLA project and community! As Stella said, you will be very missed, not least for your commitment to OSS stewardship (and your RFCs about GitHub org management 😊). Wishing you all the best.
